Supporting children’s healthy growth and development during the 2021-2022 school year.
School meal programs contribute to children’s healthy growth and development by providing them with nutritious meals and snacks that include a variety of foods from all food groups, including milk, fruit and vegetables and whole grains.
Dairy Council of California and partnering organizations remain committed to supporting food access for children and families as the school session begins. With many schools continuing to use a distance learning model, we understand that students will need safe and consistent student access to school meals.
Across California, Nutrition Services programs are working tirelessly to provide nourishing meals to students in a variety of settings. Please refer to your school district’s website for specific information about how you can get school meals for your students. We encourage all families to take advantage of the school meal service program and get your students nutritious meals that can help support their optimal growth and development.
